53rd Annual ACLPS Meeting - May 31st to June 2nd, 2018
ACLPS 2018, the 53rd annual meeting of the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists (ACLPS), will be held May 31 – June 2, 2018, at the Houston Methodist Hospital and Research Institute, Houston, Texas.
The Registration Website for the 53rd Annual Meeting of ACLPS is now active. Please go to https://www.regonline.com/2018aclps to register. The deadline for early registration is May 11, 2018. After that, there will be $100 additional fee for late/onsite registrants.

Getting to Houston
Houston is accessible by two airports: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is the international airport and is approximately 40 minutes from the Texas Medical Center (TMC). It is a hub for United Airlines. Houston Hobby (HOU) is approximately 20 minutes from the TMC and is a hub for Southwest Airlines. Uber and Lyft both operate in Houston and are the recommended mode of transportation to and from the airport and around town.
Accommodations
There is a reserved room block at the Texas Medical Center Marriott, located at 6580 Fannin Street (driveway entrance on 1730 Dryden Rd), Houston, TX 77030. The rate is guaranteed at $139/night for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights (May 30 - June 2). The conference price is not guaranteed and will be based on availability. The secured rate is available until May 9, 2018.
Events
The Thursday evening welcome reception and sponsor showcase will be held at Third Coast, a restaurant directly adjacent to Houston Methodist Hospital and Research Institute. The Friday evening awards banquet will be held at Wiess Energy Hall at the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences.
Exploring Houston
The Marriott and the Houston Methodist Hospital and Research Institute are located in the heart of the TMC. The Houston Metro Light Rail stops directly in front of the conference hotel, and can be used to explore the Museum District, Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo, and downtown. Houston has a world-class restaurant scene, and the Johnson Space Center is only 40 minutes from the TMC. The Houston Astros, World Series champions, play the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 6:15 PM at Minute Maid Park. You can purchase tickets here.
