Faculty Position in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Informatics University of Minnesota

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full-time ABP board certified/eligible MD or MD/PhD anatomic or clinical pathologist with expertise in pathology informatics. Subspecialty training in pathology informatics such as a clinical informatics fellowship and/or an advanced degree in informatics is preferred; however, applicants with other training or experience may also qualify. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity.

The incumbent is expected to participate in clinical service and have significant effort dedicated to institutional informatics services and initiatives. The position will have protected time to develop an investigational career, with a goal of developing collaborative or independent research. The successful candidate will also support trainee and faculty development in informatics through collaboration and teaching.

This position will provide expert support in informatics across the MHealth care system and maintain a level of systems integration necessary to support safe and effective patient care as it relates to the professional practice of laboratory medicine and pathology. This position will work collaboratively with the Director of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Informatics and Chief Medical Informatics Officer, MHealth Information Services (IS) department and the Division of Computational Pathology to foster a dynamic and constructive partnership.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is home to a large number of anatomic and clinical pathology faculty as well as many basic science faculty involved in research, undergraduate and graduate education.
