Informatics Associate Director Faculty Position in Laboratory Medicine at Yale - Yale School of Medicine

The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine seeks a physician or PhD with expertise in Clinical Pathology and Informatics for a full-time, ladder faculty position in the Department as Associate Director of the Laboratory Informatics Section. Yale School of Medicine, the sixth-oldest medical school in the United States, is one of the world’s leading centers for biomedical research, advanced clinical care, and medical education. Yale New Haven Hospital is a 1,519-bed tertiary referral center, which includes the 200-bed Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, the 76-bed Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, and the 128-bed Smilow Cancer Hospital. The Department of Laboratory Medicine at Yale has a long and proud tradition of providing leading edge clinical care, outstanding biomedical research, and comprehensive education.

The successful candidate would be expected to spend the majority of their time in clinical endeavors; educational and scholarly responsibilities are also an important part of the position. Start-date is flexible but is anticipated by July 1, 2022. There are multiple opportunities for those with clinical and scholarly interests in all of the sub-disciplines of Clinical & Anatomic Pathology; besides informatics, a focus on immunohematology, coagulation/hemostasis, molecular diagnostics, medical microbiology, or laboratory test development are of special interest. Candidates should be MDs or MD/PhDs who are Board certified/eligible in Clinical Pathology or PhDs who have commensurate laboratory experience or are DBACC certified/eligible; formal subspecialty training in informatics or another appropriate sub-discipline is welcome but is not required. There are many opportunities for independent research, as well as collaborative translational and clinical investigation.
