Assistant or Associate Director of Chemistry - Montefiore Medical Center

The Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine Department of Pathology seek candidates for a full-time Assistant or Associate Director of Chemistry position at the Moses hospital in the non-tenure clinician track. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Expertise is required in the area of Clinical Chemistry and specific experience with Toxicology, Mass Spectrometry, and Immunology is also desirable.

Montefiore Moses is an 800-bed hospital and the center of the Montefiore Medical Center which also includes the Montefiore Wakefield, Montefiore Weiler, and Montefiore Westchester Square hospitals, as well as several affiliate hospitals. The Moses chemistry lab handles testing for the Moses hospital as well as esoteric testing for the wider Montefiore Medical Center and outpatient testing for our large outreach system, and in total the Montefiore Clinical Pathology laboratories run more than 13,000,000 tests a year. Clinical responsibilities will include assisting in clinical oversight of the Montefiore Moses Clinical Chemistry Laboratory as well as assisting in clinical test interpretation, interfacing with clinician colleagues, and development and validation of new laboratory tests. Montefiore has a robust pathology residency program and teaching responsibilities will include teaching of residents. Opportunities for teaching of medical students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine are also available.

Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. Ph.D. applicants must be ABCC board certified or eligible. M.D. applicants must have board eligibility/certification in clinical pathology. Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the state of New York. We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.
