MIAMI, FLORIDA (USA). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level (non-tenure, clinical-educator track) in Clinical Pathology. The department is seeking a clinical pathologist to join a dynamic clinical laboratory division, which includes general clinical pathology, hematology, coagulation, immunology, chemistry, microbiology, Point of Care Testing, informatics, transfusion medicine and other related areas.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in administrative, operational, technical, and clinical service related to clinical laboratory of their subspecialty or practice areas (general clinical pathology, hematology, coagulation, immunology, chemistry and microbiology, Point of Care Testing, informatics, etc.) to advance the academic mission of the institutions. Primary clinical responsibilities include assigned laboratory operation, technical, and quality oversight and service coverage for two large hospital systems- the goal is to have a safe, efficient, productive, and quality conscious, and fiscally responsible laboratory.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is subspecialized and works closely with the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital and Health System in providing excellent patient care. UHealth and Jackson Health System are world-renowned, not-for profit multispecialty national referral centers with a mission of optimal patient care combined with excellence in teaching and research. Candidates must possess an M.D or D.O. degree, be board certified in Clinical Pathology. Additional experience and/or fellowship training in other Clinical Pathology subspecialties, such as hematology, coagulation, immunology, chemistry and microbiology, and/or Point of Care Testing is desirable. Must be licensed or eligible to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
