Job Description: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Health Network (UVM HN) is seeking a full-time pathologist to provide anatomic and clinical pathology services in a community practice setting.
The University of Vermont Health Network is composed of seven hospitals, including six community hospitals in central Vermont and upstate New York and one academic medical center in Burlington, Vermont. Our Community Practice Pathology Division is staffed by 10 pathologists covering community hospitals in the Health Network as well as a number of non-network critical access hospital laboratories (“outreach”). While this full-time role is primarily based at Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) in Berlin, VT, CLIA directorship of at least one outreach hospital laboratory is to be expected.
The Berlin/Montpelier location is situated in central Vermont and surrounded by the beautiful Green Mountains. In addition, there is seamless access to subspecialist academic consultants as needed, and our Community Practice Division provides high quality patient care to our region. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide coverage in both anatomic and clinical pathology services as a community practice pathologist, serving patients throughout our region.
• Deliver state-of-the-art patient care as part of a strong team of board-certified pathologists at CVMC.
• Be an engaged team player fostering the supportive work environment at CVMC.
• Serve as a CLIA Medical Director at an outreach hospital laboratory, typically one day per week; the Department provides support and training for candidates needing additional laboratory management skills.
Qualifications:
• Board-eligible or Board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Vermont and New York.
• Fellowship training in surgical pathology or a subspecialty is desirable.
• Experience in community practice pathology is highly desirable.
