Assistant or Associate Clinical Laboratory Director - Brigham and Women's Hospital

The Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, is seeking an Assistant or Associate Clinical Laboratory Director. The Clinical Laboratory services a 793-bed hospital within the Mass General Brigham Health Care System and performs >8 million tests annually. The clinical areas of responsibilities would include clinical chemistry, mass spectrometry, hematology, microbiology and/or reproductive endocrinology and be based on the candidate’s experience and interests.

The candidate should have a MD, PhD, MD/PhD or DCLS degree and be Board certified or eligible in Clinical Pathology (ABP), Clinical Chemistry or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of training, clinical experience, and academic scholarship in laboratory medicine. A successful applicant will play an active role in the daily operations of the Clinical Laboratory (including clinical consultation; assay selection, development, and implementation; quality improvement; and regulatory compliance) and the education of Clinical Pathology residents. The applicant will also be expected to play a role in case sign outs.

The BWH Department of Pathology has more than 120 faculty members and 55 residents and clinical fellows and offers complete Anatomic and Clinical Pathology services. The Department provides unparalleled opportunities for clinical, translational, and basic research. Collaborations in many areas of science and access to innovative educational technologies are available in the department and through interactions with investigators at multiple Harvard-affiliated institutions.

Applicants are anticipated to be hired at the academic rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor and should be committed to excellence in patient care, scholarship, and teaching. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
