The 60th ACLPS Annual Meeting will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 29–31, 2025 in Atlanta, GA. The program will feature cutting-edge research and informative practice topics at the forefront of laboratory medicine, presented by invited leaders in the field and dynamic young investigators. The meeting will offer ample opportunities for networking with colleagues and showcasing the work of trainees and investigators.

The Emory University Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, a leading academic department known for its excellence in clinical care and research, is thrilled to be hosting the 2025 ACLPS Annual Meeting.

Program

The meeting organizers are planning a program with presentations in clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical immunology/HLA, toxicology, blood banking and transfusion medicine, cellular therapy, clinical informatics, clinical immunology, digital pathology, clinical hematology/hematopathology, clinical laboratory genetics and genomics, and laboratory automation. Call for Abstracts

Share your important work with your colleagues! Download the call for abstracts. Abstract submissions from trainees, faculty members and other investigators are encouraged. Abstracts from trainees that are accepted for the Session for Submitted Scientific Papers are given as either an oral or poster presentation:

  • Oral Presentation — limited to exactly 10 minutes of PowerPoint presentation followed by 5 minutes for discussion and questions from the floor.

  • Poster Presentation — Maximum dimensions for printed scientific posters will be provided here soon. Presenters are responsible for printing their posters and mounting them on the provided presentation boards.

Company or manufacturer emblems are NOT permitted in either type of presentation.

ACLPS Junior Faculty Abstract Awards
ACLPS Junior Faculty Awards are granted to two faculty who are within 5 years of their initial appointment. Junior faculty awardees are invited to give a platform presentation at the meeting. This award includes funds for meeting registration and travel. Submissions from those who are more than 5 years from completing their training or initial faculty appointment are selected for poster or oral presentations at the Session for Submitted Scientific Papers.

Paul E. Strandjord Young Investigator Awards
Residents, fellows, and doctoral scientists actively training in programs in the health sciences who have participated in research with a member of ACLPS, or who are sponsored by an ACLPS member, are considered eligible for the Paul E. Strandjord Young Investigator Award (YIA) Program, as will be described in the forthcoming full call for abstracts. Non-doctoral students in health science programs who have conducted research with an ACLPS member, or who are sponsored by an ACLPS member, may also be considered for the Young Investigator Award.

To receive an award, the young investigator is required be the presenter and still in training at the time of presentation at the annual meeting. A sponsoring ACLPS member is required to verify the eligibility of the young investigator.

Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts
The abstract must be entered at the Ex Ordo website by 11:59 PM Eastern Time, Monday, February 10, 2025. There will be no postponement of the deadline. You will be notified by March 31st, 2025, as to whether the abstract has been accepted.

Attendance

Over 200 researchers and clinicians are expected to attend ACLPS 2025. Attendees include MD and PhD Clinical Laboratory directors from leading academic medical centers as well as residents and fellows from those programs. Registration will include conference materials, admission to exhibits, participation in conference sessions, breakfast, lunches, refreshment breaks, the welcome reception, and one ticket to the awards banquet. Additional guest tickets will be available for purchase separately by registrants.

*You will be required to create an Emory University School of Medicine CME account to register for the meeting. For physicians, the registration website will ask, "Are you a member of an ABMS Specialty Board?" You will be eligible for CME credit regardless of how you answer this question.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations and refund requests must be sent to Shirley Miller (smill25@emory.edu) on or before April 21, 2025. Cancellations will be subject to a $75 administrative processing charge. We regret that we are unable to offer a refund for cancellations requested after this date.

Located inside the Marriott Hotel, the Decatur Conference Center has over 15,000 square feet of renovated, flexible event space including the large Decatur Ballroom which has the capacity to hold 800 guests. Renovated in 2018, the conference center also provides multiple breakout rooms, an executive boardroom and amphitheater available plus 5-story atrium lobby for casual mingling. All conference rooms are equipped with wireless technology for modern and productive meetings.

The conference venue is the Courtyard By Marriott and Decatur Conference Center in the adjacent city of Decatur, a walkable, welcoming four square miles of neighborhoods, schools, places of worship and commerce just east of Atlanta and accessible by ride-share or by rail from the airport. The Courtyard Marriott is located on the Historic Downtown Decatur Square, a large pedestrian plaza anchored by a community bandstand, the Historic DeKalb Courthouse, and MARTA rail station surrounded by local businesses, including many destination dining hotspots.
