Associate Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry - Vanderbilt University Medical Center

The Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology seeks a new faculty member to serve as associate medical director of clinical chemistry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Responsibilities include participation in clinical service, interpretation of laboratory test results, communication with clinical staff, and medical director oversight of assay development, validation, and quality control. The successful candidate will also actively participate in the teaching and research missions of the department.

The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and should be board certified either by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) or the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology. Knowledge of and experience in high-volume automated clinical testing are particularly sought. Candidates with 4 or more years of professional experience are preferred. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

The Medical Center Diagnostic Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility that analyzes approximately 6 million tests per year in support of patient care for the 864-bed Vanderbilt University Hospital, 267-bed Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, associated outpatient clinics, and a national outreach program.
