Clinical Pathologist - Kaiser Permanente Northern California

REGIONAL CLINICAL PATHOLOGISTS - Northern California Kaiser Permanente

Responsibilities include:
• Provide leadership and oversight of clinical pathology testing services, quality management systems and regulatory compliance
• Provide laboratory medicine consultation to hospital-based pathologists and laboratorians
• Provide consultation to clinical providers, including appropriate test selection and interpretation
• Champion KP’s Labor Management Partnership, safe work environment, employee health and wellness, and continuing education.

Required qualifications:
• License to practice medicine in the State of California
• Board certified in Clinical Pathology (CP)
• Fulfill CLIA qualifications to serve as Laboratory Director
• Ability to provide physician leadership within an integrated laboratory system that includes hospital and regional reference laboratory services
• Working knowledge of laboratory accreditation standards (e.g. TJC, CAP-LAP, ISO15189, and AABB) and regulatory requirements (City, State, Federal)

Preferred qualifications:
• CP subspecialty certification in blood banking, coagulation, chemical pathology, clinical informatics, or molecular genetic pathology
• Post-graduate experience in clinical pathology/laboratory medicine
• Familiarity with information technology, including EMR, LIS, systems software, data management, information processing and clinical decision support.
