Assistant Professor WOT, Clinical & Molecular Microbiology - University of Washington, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Washington, seeks an Assistant Professor WOT (without tenure), due to reasons of funding, to join our clinical microbiology division on the clinician-educator pathway. The primary service responsibilities will be to participate in direction of the Department’s Molecular and Next Gen Microbiology Laboratory and to direct one or more of the Department's clinical microbiology laboratories. Additional responsibilities include the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students and medical laboratory scientist program undergraduates, and scholarly productivity.
This is a full-time, 12-month service (July 1 - June 30) position and remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2022, but is flexible.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess (1) an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board-eligible in clinical pathology or (2) an earned PhD in a related field (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Medical Microbiology. Documented expertise in the operation of clinical laboratories and in the clinical interpretation of test results is required. A record of scholarship, as documented by publications, is also required. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1-B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
