Clinical Chemist/Clinical Pathologist - University of Utah/ARUP Laboratories

The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and ARUP Laboratories are seeking applicants with the skills and interest to develop a strong academic career focused on clinical chemistry. The successful applicant will have experience in clinical assay development and validation, quality control and quality assurance, interpretation of laboratory test results, and consultation with physicians and other health care providers. Expertise with immunoassay, esoteric/specialty chemistry testing, and maternal serum screening is highly desirable. Participation in the research and development efforts conducted at ARUP Laboratories, the academic mission of the Department of Pathology, providing education to laboratory staff, pathology residents, post-doctoral fellows, and other University of Utah students is also expected.

Applicants require a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree. The faculty appointment will be made at a rank (assistant/associate/full professor) commensurate with experience. PhD candidates should be board certified or eligible by ABCC. MD candidates should be board certified or eligible in clinical pathology by ABP. NYDOH Certificate of Qualification (or eligible) for relevant specialty categories is also required. The successful candidate will have clinical and administrative responsibilities in the Chemistry Division of ARUP Laboratories.
