Clinical Chemistry Postdoctoral Fellowship Position (July 2023) - University of Chicago Medicine

Program Description:
The Department of Pathology at The University of Chicago offers a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Chemistry that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry (https://pathology.uchicago.edu/education/clinical-chemistry-fellowship). We are soliciting qualified applications for an open position for July 2023. Clinical chemistry employs chemical, genomics, proteomics and metabolomics applications in the assessment of health and disease. These laboratory data are used for diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of disease, and guiding therapy in clinical medicine. This training will prepare the successful candidate for a career in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. Fellows are expected to take the American Board of Clinical Chemistry examination by the completion of the program.

Prerequisites:
Applicants must possess an earned doctoral degree (PhD) in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, molecular biology, or a related biomedical science or a MD/DO degree with preferably 1-3 of postdoctoral experience in a research laboratory. Must have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 30 semester hours (US equivalent) in undergraduate and/or graduate level chemistry or biochemistry courses prior to admission into the program to meet certification eligibility requirements by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry.
