Clinical Microbiology/Infectious Diseases Immersion Fellowship - Weill Cornell Medicine
A postdoctoral position is available beginning on July 1, 2023 in Drs. Michael Satlin and Lars Westblade’s laboratory at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. Qualified applicants should state their interest in pursuing training and conducting research in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases in support of patient care through this clinical immersion program. The purpose of this postdoctoral fellowship is to train and prepare the applicant to successfully compete for American Society for Microbiology Subcommittee on Postgraduate Education Programs (CPEP) accredited two-year fellowships in Medical and Public Health Microbiology. The applicant must have a PhD or expect to receive a PhD no later than June 30, 2023. Interested individuals should send a cover letter, a list of 3 references, and a CV to Drs. Job Requirements:
The applicant’s skills must include experience and knowledge in microbiology and molecular biology. Experience with microbial culture techniques, molecular amplification platforms/procedures and immunological assays is strongly recommended. The applicant will apply these techniques during “on the job” training in clinical laboratory procedures utilized in a clinical microbiology laboratory (Dr. Westblade) in support of infectious diseases practices (Dr. Satlin) serving a health care system in New York City. The applicant will lead and assist with studies and clinical trials. Applicants will be expected to work in an organized manner, function as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and should expect to perform the tasks required to generate peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts for scientific conferences.
Salary Range for this position is: $58,500 - $66,538. Weill Cornell Medicine provides the above salary range in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range listed is for full‐time employment not including benefits, bonuses, or clinical incentive compensation where applicable. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, specialty, training, and hospital/community needs.
